yes
i film all my vehicles as well as paint correction and ceramic coating right when I buy them.

imo your options depend on how bad your chips already are

xpel self healing film is typically something done on a brand new vehicle, I wouldnt personally spend that kind of money on something that already has visible defects

in any case the clear film is great and does really help

Looking to do the xpel on my entire hood, bumpers, grille, rocker panels.

I too am curious how it does with rock chips, etc.

Also wonder how it is vs. 3m stuff

Stuff is expensive - $2k for all that I mentioned

I am having my truck done this week with xpel.
I think its worth the price to protect the front end and rocker panels.

I did 3m around the wheel wells, along the bottom of both doors up,to the the body line and on the outer rocker panels. Going back for the bumper, grill, hood and back of the mirrors in a couple weeks. Well worth the investment

I just had my front/ rear bumpers, door handles and black plastic tailgate molding painted... had that stuff protected with xpel as well as entire hood, everything on the front, rocker panels and quarter panels. I'll let y'all know how it holds up!

I wasn't going to do all of that but got an unbelievable amount of rock chips in the first 2500 miles!

I also did the door handles front and back bumpers headlights.
Had it done when the truck had 13,000 miles. Wish I would have done it right when I got the truck.

The xpel I got looks pretty good... you can definitely tell it’s there when you’re closer than 5 feet away and all of the seams/ joints aren’t perfect but it should protect well!

Thanks for the info! I was on the fence between Xpel and 3M, but I think I just made my mind up. I’m definitely doing the ceramic as well.

I did ceramic as well... stuff is amazing so far. I'm really curious to see how it is holding up at the 1 year, 18 month and 2 year marks...
