Crank Case Cleaning

How often should I do this and how do you clean it? Sorry for a newb question.

there was a tsb about the filter being trashed and replaced if you get a certain code. Can't remember what I'm to tired to think lol. but apparently they do in fact get trashed or go bad.

Oh wow.. wonder why they did that? Just to keep oil vapor out of the intake tract maybe? I gutted the diaphragm on mine a while ago.. basically makes it free flowing now..

did not mean actual filter, rather ability to filter oil out of vapor stream and back to crankcase

Yep. I dont care about oil residue in the cooler or pipes to seep out. Id rather it pull vacuum istead of build pressure.

The truck has 44,XXX miles on it should I look to clean it out? If so, what should I use ( paper towels etc.) I'll eventually look into a CCV ****** kit.

I've seen that guy and not really sure what to think, everyone has their opinion but it seems most guys on here have got rid of it and are venting it or back into their exhaust.
