I have seen it done but wanted to know what everyone who did the old school junk glass XL light to 05 light did for a conversion plug? I know you can buy a 9007 to 9008 adapter plug but don't see anything for the glass to 9008 adapters. Cut & splicing isn't a big deal, I have everything needed to do that. Just need to know what wires to hack into.

There is a pigtail that you remove to go from the sealed beams to the 9007. So all you need is a 9007 to 9008 adapter harness.

What are you wanting to know Gare? Which wire is the high, low, and ground?

I want to know how much hack & slashing I have to do to go from.......

I think you're going to need to cut out your header panel to get the newer lights to fit. Find an 05 conversion sticky to show where to cut em.

You'll have to cut or replace the header pannel for the 05+ headlights but as far as wiring goes, there is no need to cut and splice. Just swap one adapter pigtail for another.

eBay has the best prices. Or you can find them on headlightsdepot.com

Will the factory 99-04 turn/marker bulbs and sockets go right in then? Everyone always says about the headlights but not those.

I found my set on ebay that came with the pigtail.

And I believe the turn signal is different then the old lights. However mine came with them. The bulb is the same.

Gare, best bet is just trial and error IMO. There will be an obvious ground, you just have to figure out which is high and which is low.

Why would you need to cut and splice? It's plug and play.

Really? I could have sworn I've done like 3 of these conversions and it's NOT plug and play...

It would be if it were an 05+ truck he was installing the 05+ headlights in, but it is not...

You will be with adapters, but if you don't have adapters you'll need pigtails and splicing.
