Whats up Guys, Well I just fired up my rebuilt 7.3 and I am getting blow-by coming out of the dip stick as well as oil pushing its way out of the turbo on the exhaust side. Any suggestions on break-in and possible causes ? also turbo was rebuilt and installed with rebuilt motor, I am going to take it off and have it looked at to see if the rebuild failed. Any input will help guys thank you !!

Run the crap out of it to seat the rings. Get a heavy load behind it and let her buck.

08monster thanks for the info, thats what ill do. Load up a trailer and put some mileage on her. what about the turbo issue ? do you think the oil coming out of the turbo is also from the blow-by ?

I doubt it. I would guess it's just simply leaking by the seal and into the exhaust. Wouldn't hurt to take it off and give it a look over

How did you set your ring gaps?
Bad machine work?
Used parts go back in?
What does it look like with the oil fill cap off?
How does the motor sound?

As for the turbo, the seal ring could be broken.

Thanks for the replies guys, @ uncool the oil cap off no blow-by and everything is 100% factory new.
Hahahaha @dsberman94 thanks, I to believe that the rings have not seated.

Bad turbo can cause blow-by also. Pull turbo and replace or repair and then run engine under a load to seat rings
