I pulled the helper spring out and was hesitant about pulling out another leaf and not having enough left if I wanted to hook up the boat. Think it would bottom out if I pulled another out?

I'm not sure how heavy your boat is, But I pull my Polaris RZR 1000 around on a 12' lowboy with my shorty and it doesn't sit it down all that much. Definitely not enough to worry about.

I've got an 01' Mastetcraft X-Star on a tandem axke trailer. Can't tell it's hooked up to the 6.4?but it's got all the springs and s much larger footprint. I think I'll hook it up this week and take some measurements and see how bad it is before I pull another spring out.

Did you do any sanding on the xl plastic or just paint.

Sanded it with some 120 and 240 grit on a DA sander and that was it. I did use Duplicolor paint match paint tho.

Adhesion promoter or just painted? I'd recommend the adhesion promoter if you end up having to do it again and to anyone else painting plastic with duplicolor.

Just painted, plan on having everything done professionally this summer after the trucks done. Just wanted to get it looking better for the time being at least!

Planning on ordering some wheels this week but can't decide which ones to go with. I've got it narrowed down to a couple different ones. They are both 22x9.5 and comply different styles. I've always had black wheels on everything but the chrome Fuels I think would look pretty good tho.
There is only a $70 difference between the two sets are actually cheaper then I expected them to be. Planning on running 305/45r22 tires which should fill up the wheel wells.

I think the chrome would look great! Can't beat it against a white truck!

While waiting for the 6.4 to warm up this morning I got the headlights baked and taken apart. Should have a he front end done this weekend. It took about 20 minutes total to get them both apart. All you need is a couple different sized flatheads, 7mm socket and ratchet and that's pretty much it.

Had the oven set at 220 degrees, baked one at a time for 8 minutes. Once they started cooling off id just swap them out and work on each one until they eventually came apart.

3 of the wheels showed up a day early. I can at least get those mounted and on the truck. I ended up going with the 22 x 9.5 Gears. I was afraid I wouldn't like having chrome wheels so went the safe route with black.

Originally planned to run a 305 series tire but ran across these at work for $100. They are Bridgestone 285/45r22. Basically 3/4 of an inch skinnier and shorter then a 305. I can live with that for now!

Pulled the tranny out and got it dropped off yesterday to get rebuilt. Got the headlights sealed back up, just need to bolt them back on.

Hopefully I can get the tranny back and installed this weekend and drive it for the first time!

Still need to pull one more leaf out of the rear to get it lower. Looks way better now tho!

Still waiting to get my tranny back but got the front end done. Ended up putting a set of LED bulbs in and discovered something pretty cool for anyone wanting to use 05-07 headlights in an older truck.

I ordered the h13 bulbs to fit the newer housing. The bulbs came in before the wiring harness adapter so I figured I would go ahead and get the headlights bolted in since I could go back later with the adapter once it came in. Turns out these bulbs have a 9007 style connector and come with an spatter to swap over to the h13 style plug. There is no need for any additional wiring, just plug and play! I didn't take any pictures of my own but these are from Amazon.

I finally got around to pulling out the other leaf in the rear and got it pretty much level now. Only a little less then an inch lower! Looks so much better!

Well I've got about 300 miles on it so far. Goes straight down the road like it should and is much smoother then I imagined it being.

The only major issue I've ran into is I don't think I got the sending unit positioned all the way to the bottom of the tank like it should be when I shortened it. Was on my way home with a little under 1/2 tank and next thing you know it's out of fuel. Threw a few gallons in and it fired right back up luckily!

I have a similar problem with the F-150 tank and sending unit I'm using. Once mine gets near 1/4 tank, it starts falling pretty fast towards E.

Luckily I have a sump and don't have to worry about the draw straw height like the issue your having...

Good Luck!

I've tossed around the idea of adding a sump to eliminate the problem all together. Wish I would have done that when I had everything all torn apart.
