Default Retired Uhaul E-450

Thinking about picking up a work truck , 14 foot body retired Uhaul E450 with a V10. Their service records are great , some on the lot have new tires and brakes , some new transmissions. There is a lot by me that has about 20 of them , all 2006-2007 with 125k on them asking $8-9500. Anyone have any experience with this year E series or the V10 ? Love to see a write up somewhere on how to “bulletproof” the v10 or chassis

Thanks

A V10 in that size of truck will never pass a fuel station.

I know we had a couple of company trucks with that V10 and you could actually watch the fuel gauge move towards empty. But it had all the power that you needed.

V10 is stout but thirsty. That motor is in everything from vans to motor homes to box truck, hell my tool guy has one in his utilimaster box truck and loves it.

The 6.8 is a good engine, but boy do those thing suck some fuel. It can get out of its own way though vs like a 5.4.
