After 100458 miles, my original turbo finally decided to off itself. I never thought that it would've lasted as long as it did. That just means time for upgrades! I placed an order with MPD today for a 63mm setup. Sounds like the truck will be down 2-3 weeks. We were slow at the shop so I decided to go ahead and tear into it. Here are some pics of the tear down for your viewing pleasure..

When I was removing the turbo I noticed a bunch of soot around the wastegate. Once it was off, I removed to the exhaust housing to find that was where the soot was coming from. Has anybody else experienced this?

The turbo? You can see in the 4th picture of the original post that the shaft snapped clean right behind the compressor wheel before going into the center housing.

Yes it is. Job 2 11. Just the normal stuff. Minimaxx with SPE tunes, EGR gone, exhaust, intake. Tuned and deleted since 20k miles. I probably sprayed 3-4 bottles of nitrous through it..

No sir, the nitrous came off the truck and went on my 6.4 where it is better utilized. I was leaving the shop when it went. Probably a 1/2 throttle pull up the access ramp and BOOM!

Everything is shipping out in the morning! I was expecting a longer wait but couldn't be more pumped to get this thing back on the road. Now if only my new wheels would get here..

UPS left me a box today. The CAC piping will be here tomorrow but everything else is on the truck ready to go. Overall, quality and fitment has been top notch so far. I would way rather put these kits on all day than have to put a stock turbo back on. Well done MPD!
