Default Canadian sniper sets new record, picks off 2.2 mile shot

I love precision shooting. Although my best shots are amateur hour compared to this. Interesting read. Turned an isis d-bags head into a canoe from over 2 miles away.

Canadian sniper sets world record with 2.2-mile pickoff of ISIS fighter

.50 BMG takes back the record, .338 Lapua has held the record since 09 in Afghanistan by the Brits. It took 10.5 seconds from trigger pull to target down.

The Canadian JTF2 are some seriously talented and trained individuals. That had to have been the longest 10 seconds of his & spotter's life.

Here's the previous records:

That was exactly what I said. I bet 10 seconds feels like an eternity in bullet time. Impressive, no doubt about it. I love reading stuff like this.

What blows my mind is that it was with a .50. Ballistically the round isn't great TBH. It carries a TON of kinetic energy though.

I wonder why the target was standing still for ten seconds in a war zone.

The video of the 1 1/2 mile shot the target had no idea and just kept walking up the ridge. The first shot was high and off the mark, the second shot clipped his backpack, and the third took him out.

Quite possibly from that far away they weren't hearing that much of a report from the rifle and pretty much ignored it until it was too late.
