Figured as much, the guy said he tracks all mpg and records it.
He told me where to go after I told him to contact Guinness World Records with those claims.
20 empty I can entertain

I have a stock height, stock tire height, 3.73 geared, 4x4 03 Excursion.
We’ve owned it for 9 years, and we have put 195,000 miles on it in that time. Started out bone stock, currently is 550-600 hp. I have EVERY SINGLE fuelup written down (date, miles, $ per gallon, and gallons) since we’ve owned it.
It has only gotten into the 18 mpg range on 4 tankfuls of fuel in the entire time we’ve owned it.

I did the same record keeping on an 07 LBZ Duramax that I bought new and put 88,500 miles on. It got 18.?? on 3 tankfuls the entire time I owned it also.

I call bs anytime someone claims they can consistently get 20+ mpg on and 3/4 or 1 ton diesel pickup.

I used to get 21 all the time, and could get 22-23 in my OBS, it was 180/100s, BASB turbo and t500 hpop (and all support mods), it was a 96 eclb 4x4, stock height, 285/80s and 3.55 with ZF5. 21 was achieved with fuel saving driving habits and 70mph on interstate, 22-23 was only achieved if I never got over 55. That same truck would get 18 all day every day with moderate driving habits... I dont care how hard I try in my current truck (06 4x4 cclb, leveled, 35s w/ 3.73, basic 6.0 necessities and tunes) I never get over 17.5 mpg
