Hey jcart,

I think your on the right track wanting to go the ZF route.
Having said That, why don't you give BD diesel a try for your auto needs. There just in Abbotsford, ?
I've been to there new shop and it's very impressive and offer a great warranty. I always kicked myself for not just bucking up and installing one there trans in my truck when my auto layed an egg for third time.

The E4OD can be built just as tough as any 4R100, the problem is this, you don't have enough clutches in your intermidiate, forward, or overdrive assembly. The tcc circuit in the front pump is very important, sonnax or transgo had their fixes.. Be careful drilling out the orifice for the lock up apply.. Go too big and it will bleed off and slow gear engagement after hot restart.. The 4R100 has junk diode assembly for the forward Sprague, the E4OD used a much better one.. Good builders know that it's not just the billet shafts but the small things that fail that can cause big conditions.. I could go on and on about these things lol.
