I got my kit complete from DP tuner which turns out to be the 364.5/68/.91 and it does spool quick empty or towing. EGT's aren't an issue at all. 1023 tuning is the best I've tried. I don't generally drive aggressive so the "lack" of top end power this turbo doesn't have isn't an issue.

That said, being a T4 mount, it's great to know that I can change the turbo for half of what a 38R costs. I have been thinking about a 366/1.0 housing but probably need to install head studs first....

Sounds like you basically have/want my setup. As my tow pig I chose the 366 and I have zero regrets. The truck is complete and very capable. Depending on your driving style, I'd still go with the 366. Unless you're going for the all out extra little bit. I prefer spool up. Though they probably spool I really close.

If you haven't already, plan on a clutch to hold it.

Already installed the Southbend DD capable of holding 650HP and 1300Ft. lbs. Watched your videos and I am jealous. Just wondering how the 369 would perform. I definitely want the spool up and not lag. When I press the pedal towing, I want it to increase speed, not die. How much HP do you think you are using in the tow tune? Do you know your overall HP? And how much will change with very lightly larger tires?

I only use two tunes. My daily file and an all out file. The daily file isn't that much reserved, it just doesn't smoke as much down low. In the all out file it ran 14.9 I think it was, at 97 mph shifting gears and weighing in at 8,000. Should be somewhere north of 500. I don't expect the daily file to be much behind it.

All of the towing videos were in my daily tune. All of the back pressure videos were in the hot tune. So people could make their own decisions because not many were running that combo.

Edit: the daily file is ge@rheads #5 file, and the other is their #6 all out file. I think the #5 maxes at 3.0ms, and all out at 3.2ms pulsewidth

You basically can't hurt the truck in the #5 file.

Thanks for the info. I currently have the .91 housing with 366 on my 01 auto with 3.73 gears. Debating on buying a 364.5 like you guys recommended when I purchased the 366 for the auto. do you recommend going to the 1.0 housing for the ZF6 with 238/100s? What do you think I would experience with the .91 housing with the 238/100s and ZF6?

I'd definitely run a 1.0 on the auto. And my 366 has a 1.0 and it keeps back pressure in check. Like I said, I don't want to change anything on mine. I'm not sure anyone has posted back pressure numbers with the .9s

Got it all together. Went with the 364.5 SXE (13009097055) with 1.0 housing (179905). Had some hiccups getting the wrong mount kit but got it all worked out. Have not towed anything yet but seems good empty.

I've installed 238/100s in 2 trucks with the same tuning. One is running an S369SX-E and the other is running an S364.5SX-E. The 364.5 begins to spool about 200 RPM sooner than the 369, but the 369 runs a bit stronger up top. My truck towed great with 160/30s and a 364.5, I have not towed with it since the 238s were installed.

Brandon - If you think you like it empty, wait until you tow. They like to work.

JDelaney - Do both have the same exhaust housings? If so what are they? And that sounds about right.

Both of my trucks are in my signature. With planning my next turbo purchase and adding 238/100s to the manual truck, what would you guys do? Buy a 364.5 for the auto and swap the 366 to the manual? Buy a 2nd 366 and 1.0 housing for the manual? I am confusing myself with all the thoughts and options. I do know I am not extremely pleased with the auto for towing. Street driving/daily is great but pretty dead at low RPM for towing.

Define low rpm? Also, is it smokey, or just doesnt make power at this rpm range?

If its not smokey, then its likely just a tuning issue. If its smokey, then its an over sized turbo.

It is smokey. Basically lugging low speed, low (1200-1700 rpm) you guys had told me to go with the 364.5 but I had already ordered the 366 and .91 housing

I can make smoke, but generally dont need to. You said you've seen my videos to see where my setup comes alive.

On the truck with 160s I would put a 364.5 and keep the .9 housing.

On the manual with 238-100s, I would still do my setup. 366 with 1.0. Maybe buy or keep a .9 to try if you want it to come on a little sooner. Again, I wouldnt change anything on my setup.

That's my thoughts as well. What injectors would you say to go with on the 364.5 later if I changed them? What injectors would be matched the best with that turbo, auto, and 3.73 gear. Thanks again for your advice

Ive seen people with stock injectors happily running a 364.5 with a .9. I think you would be just fine and happy with it.

The Brad is running 200/80s and most people with them are running 175/80s I think (Swaan and a few come to mind) and with a 364.5 and a .9 are very happy with its performance as well.

Whatcha guys thinking for my setup. Sick and tired of feeling under the turbo. The 3.73 and 35s make the 38r lug. It’s great empty but unless the rpms are screaming it sucks towing. I’ve read so much about the 364.5 that I’m leaning towards that. Just don’t want to be miserable with my eyes glued to the get gauge anymore
