I have an 03 f350 drw and my rear axle had bad bearings and I broke an axle so i decided to just replace the entire rear end. I came across a good deal on one in good shape with limited slip my old one is open. The only difference is the yoke. My old on has the plate that bolts to the rearend and the new one is connected by the u joint. Can i just pull the pinions and change them or will my driveshaft bolt up or do I need a different u joint.
Going to get it in one night this week and want all my parts here.
Also whats the best oil to run in it since it is LS??
Thanks in advance
I tried to search but coulsnt find the answer

You can almost certainly pull the flange yoke and install it on the new axle.

Otherwise, you will need to determine the u joint size. The D 80 could have 1410 or 1480 u joints.

You are welcome.

I forgot to include that the torque spec is 470 lb-ft and to use med strength (blue) thread locker. It is crucial that the flange nut is properly torqued. Use a known weight and leverage that the very least; better to borrow a 3/4" drive torque wrench.

To answer your second question: any 75w-140 will be fine. This viscosity is synthetic only. Add a friction modifier for the LS diff.
