I see a couple of you have super dutys with an AFE intake setup. Did you guys cut the plastic pipe just outside the metal enclosure?

I'm trying to figure out a clean way to keep the AFE enclosure and 5" filter but adapt it to the S468 I bought.

Thanks

How's it run with that setup?

Seems to work good so far.... I have only 10 miles on it so far...

It starts to boost around 1350 to 1400 RPMs with out much throttle input.. I have seen 10 to 12 PSI @ 1800 But that had a good amount of throttle input... When it hits 12 to 13 PSI around 2200 and if you ar stepping on it pretty good.. It will hit 30 PSI in the blink of a eye almost... I have 300/200 Injectors though.... BUT still stock tunning.. SO with good tunning it could do better then it does now...

When you are around 2200RPMs and step on it good the boost will climb slowly ( still faster then stock) But when it hits 12 to 13psi it almost instantly hits 30 psi.. The only reason it stops is because I back off... ALL the testin g so far was done on a gravel road... SO that could help it..

Where did you get that turbo? I ran the same one last year and it was alright, but I felt like it couldnt ever clean up 200% nozzles

I bought it new from a guy on Ebay... Then had River City Turbo machine a .90A/R exhaust housing for it...

This on is "supposed" to flow 90+ LBs a minute... Which is more then a standered GT4294 flows... I am shure it will not clean them up.. This turbo would shine in a good compound set-up.. If you had 88mm or bigger turbo feeding it, That would be Ideal.. imho That is part of the reason I whent with a .90 Exhaust housing.. This turbo for low end then a Bigger one for high end... I just drove it again and the turbo has no trouble (even under light throttle) starting to spool @1350 to 1400rpms

sitting in netraul and just holding it @2500 I see 2 pounds of boost... My factory turbo NEVER did that.. even with a 1.00A/R housing..

Best pic I have of mine right now and haven't had time to pull the pipes out and Duracoat them again since the turbo swap, so it's not pretty.

S465 w/ 83mm turbine and .90 housing on a Murff Racing mount in my OBS. LOTS of modification to the firewall neccessary behind the turbo and had to build a tunnel in the firewall to fit even a 3" downpipe. This turbo tows awesome, even with my stage 2's.

im toying around the idea of doing a custom up pipe/pedastal build for maybe a s366 in my superduty. i picked up an obs so i can now leave the SD apart without having to worry about getting to work lol. anyways, where do you guys tap into for the oil feed for the turbo? if the mount bolts right over the stock port?

Drill and tap a hole in the pedistal for the stock oil feed. Use the stock o-ring to seal the oil feed under the pedistal and thread an NPT fitting into the pedistal for the feed line.
