So I have wanted a diesel powered block heater for my truck for a long time, and I have noticed they seem to be really popular with the dodge boys but I can't find any info out on them for the Powerstroke. I like in northern Alberta Canada and spend alot of time Miles, if not 100s of miles away from a plug in.

There seem to be only a few players to speak of, the Espar D5, and the Webesto tsl17 seem to be the ones that are installed on pickups most ofter.

I found a used Proheat x45 that was off a Tractor Trailer unit for a good price, but I am not sure if it would work on a 7.3 rather then a 12+L tractor trailer engine it was installed on before.

Anybody used one of these before and have any experience with them.

no reason at all why that x45 won't work on a pickup. prob have very quick heat up time. eskimo refrigeration sells and services most brands. they have a Calgary office, but i think other branches too
