I have spent hours looking for a current thread for a consensus on which motor oil for the 6.7 after Fords new oil spec and possible oil additives. Can anyone suggest such a thread?

There are a couple oil threads for the 6.7. Just gotta find them.

Just get some lubrication engineers 5w40 from jimdawg185 on here and rock on. Its amazing stuff.

You hit on one of the main questions I have and the only reason I'm confused at present, tons of people saying the 5w40 is to thin to protect the journals because of oil shearing........which brings me to the question about additives...like Lucas or...whatever to protect against anything the 5w might cause....
Is it possible for an oil additive to not meet Fords new 6.7 spec, or cause the oil to not meet the spec?

Dont use additives.. use a better oil. I dont know where there are tons of people saying its bad to use 5w40 being that it is a better option for these motors due to tighter tolerances. Unless they are using junk oil.

Search for jimdawg185 on here, or go down to the sponsors section, his company is elite lubrication specialists, or something to that effect.

You can send him a private message also. He doesn't do online ordering. You call or message him.
