Transmission Fluid Change Necessary?

I see to change it every 30k, but it looks brand new/clean when i check it. Is this another ploy to get you to spend money at the dealership?

I have 55k on this fluid now.

Honestly, the 5r110 is extremely sensitive to dirt/clutch material in the fluid. There is no such thing as too much maintenance on it if you want it to live a while.

Please take 6.0 Tech's advice.

Also, buy the fluid and change it yourself. It is as simple as changing the oil. I drain and refill 3 times (with 20-30 miles of driving in between changes) because it is impossible to get more than 50% (approximate) of the fluid out. You get around 90% removal of the old fluid that way.

Change the external filter every 30k miles also. For this job, an impact wrench helps.
