2010 F250 - Ive had for a few years and it was purchased with *** gone and tune already installed. Recently was getting P088, so decided to get the new flash with the wider band on the high pressure fuel fault. Bought a Mini Maxx so I could tune after dealer flashed. Tech tried loading PMI version, but IDS could not recognize the TCM. Ended up loading the Module Reprogram flash. When trying to load Mini after the flash, it would fault out as soon as you selected automatic transmission. On the settings page, the ECM part number was "*******ENG01" and the TCM part number was "*******TRANS02", so obviously the original tune was a *******.

The truck sat for a few days while I researched and looked everywhere for help. Turns out the only way to rid a truck of a ******* tune (without the same tuner) is by successfully flashing the truck back to OEM stock using the PMI selection on IDS. Problem is, you cant always read the TCM with ******* loaded. The only fix was a new TCM, then a PMI level flash, then load the Mini. Just a little info in case anyone else runs into same issue.

******* = S P A R ........T a N
