The stock compressor wheel exducer is 80mm and the inducer is 59.87mm (56trim).

The 38r compressor wheel exducer is 88mm and the inducer is 65.86mm (56 trim).

The turbine wheel on both turbos has a 76.20mm inducer and a 67.73mm exducer (79 trim).

I think its the same as the obs turbine iirc. There was a thread a few weeks ago about it but I don't remember what.

It is. The SD van turbine wheel is the same as the OBS turbine wheel.

Then why don't a stock turbine housing work on 38r? You have to get the 38r housing.

they do work.... the stock .84 is just a little tight and the combo isn't very well matched

Diesel Jim put a stock OBS 1.15 housing on the 38r, but he said he doesn't recommend it.

That's not what you said....

The reason the obs housing doesn't work well is because it is sized for the bigger turbine wheel.

Why can't you? They use the same compressor wheel threads and housings interchange. Is there something I'm missing.
