Do I have to mess
with the ac at all?

Nope. If you want more room you can remove the battery and battery tray. If you do that you'll have to slide the AC line out of the tray. No need to disconnect the line though

Pop front lower valve cover bolt/stud out so it don't snag up on a/c. That's my ticket sliding cover up and out toward ya. For whatever reason my first go around I always remember that dang stud snagging lol.

Remove air box, glow plug harness, and the gp module. Take off the oil fill and the drain back line. Undo the engine harness from the fire wall to get more room. And working between the wheel well and the top side of the engine get the bolts out and then work it's way out towards the front. You can do this without removing ac lines and without removing coolant if you have the skills LOL. BECAREFUL WITH THE BLACK HARD COOLANT LINE!!! if it breaks, well beterr take tomorrow off
