so you're trying to weld aluminized to stainless... there is almost no way that the welds will look very good.. crank up the gas and clean as best as possible..

Also check the polarity on the machine someone may have been using it with flux core wire. Flyx core and bare wire use diffeent polarity.

It was flux core. I experimented with my arch welder and found that I do much better with it and that's what I will use from here on out. Lol

20 bucks your polarity was switched. MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!

I hate welding thinner stuff with Flux core. It's great for thicker stuff, building up material quickly and welding unclean/unprepped surfaces, but I'd rather prep the surfaces and just weld with 75/25 and solid wire any day. Welds like butta. Flux core should be set to electrode negative.
