What would one need to look for when trying to find a used PCM? I read somewhere the early style is different from later, but what else is different? Do you need to stick with the same model year? Same truck options? Find one with the same strategy? I’m guessing it’ll have to be reprogrammed to match the VIN of the truck it’s going in? I didn’t figure it’s just a plug and play deal.

05-07s will interchange. 03-04s will interchange.

Need to get one depending on your trans. They do not need to be programmed to run in a different truck.

I have several PCMs, if you want a price on one shoot me a PM.

There is a DPU-xxx code on the bottom of the PCM you can compare if you pull it out.

So if I got one that compared to the number on the bottom of mine currently, it’s just swap them out and roll on? Getting one with the same strategy would be a crap shoot I assume, so tunes would have to be rewritten.
