Since finding the results of my nozzle tests I did last fall, I decided that I was going to have to save my pennies, put my big boy pants on, and throw some reliability parts at my truck. I have put about 40k miles on my truck almost always running my hottest tune, and in that 40k, I've put 15k or so on it with 71 and 72mm turbos. I have never had studs or even an EGR delete in it, so I have always been prepared for the worst :gun: I have been incredibly fortunate that I haven't ever had a single issue with my truck, especially with the beatings I have given it. It's been down the track more times than I can count, been sled pulled, etc without issue.

My Dad bought us a hunting trip down to Texas in April, and I got volunteered to drive, so I thought it was time to add some reliability to it. Everyone that knows me knows that I fly by the seat of my pants most of the time, and this was no different.

Last Monday I decided that I would pull the cab off the following weekend. I was fortunate enough to use 200whp_liter's shop to do it, but I had to have the truck out by Sunday night because Justin needed the lift Monday morning. Since I was under a super time crunch, and the truck hasn't ever puked a drop I decided to stud it one at a time. I didn't have a day to get the heads resurfaced and didn't see a reason to replace the gaskets without machining.

Current Mods:
- Elite Diesel 72mm atmosphere
- Elite 60hp nozzles

The List:
- True H-11 studs from Elite
- Elite EGR Delete
- Heavy duty up pipes from Elite
- Elite Dual Pumps
- Airdog and an Airdog upgrade
- No Limit Pipe from Papa Dillehay

So, Friday night Justin gave me a hand getting the cab ready to come up (Thanks Homie!). Saturday morning I got the cab pulled (Love frozen bolts) and set to work. Nathannial came all the way up to Fort Collins to give me a hand for the rest of the night. He and I worked til 3:30 before we decided to call it a night. Sunday around 5pm the truck fired, no leaks and no issues. I was super thankful for Nathannial's help... otherwise yesterday would have been a much longer day!

Gotta say thanks to Tadd as well for all the help busting his ass to get my stuff done for me. Wayne was a huge help in getting my stuff together as well. Matt at Gearhead got tunes written for the dual pumps in a hurry and as always, I appreciate it Matt!

And Aaron overnighted me some pushrods that I ended up not using since I didn't pull the heads, but He bent over backwards for me as well.

I need to get the truck back on Haller's dyno to see how it compares to before, but I know it feels stronger even in the same tune. There is a dyno day this weekend that it may make an appearance at as well, so I should have some numbers soon. I am a little nervous that the transmission is going to take a leap on me lol but I don't believe that trans owes me anything :swordfight:

My baby boy is all grown up!

If the AirDog chits the bed, remember its not my fault, installer error LOL

Hey you're right! So who the hell installed Dillehay's?! LOL

I'm coming for your old crew cab goal lol and yes he did! I'm not quick enough at this stuff yet lol dude was a real lifesaver! That plus working on the same damn thing by yourself for that long gets boring

so when you added the air dog...you can remove the fuel bowl up top?

With the airdog upgrade, yes. But since the airdog has filtration, you can eliminate the fuel bowl.

Glad you were able to get this done, I know youve been itching for awhile.

Im sure we will be in touch Saturday :poke:

Thanks buddy! I'm happy that it came together as easily as it did.

Not a problem, Just let me know!

Awesome work buddy, can't wait to hear what it puts down.

Thanks Nick!

Pretty sweet build JD! It should do well at the dyno, didn't you put down 698 already with just the 72 atmo? Also interested to see the track times after.

Thanks mink!

It did, yes but I really don't see me turning up the fuel much. If it weren't for the nozzle swap I wouldn't have changed tunes since the last time I loaded the Gearhead race tune. I tow and dd that tune as well as run it at the track. I hate changing tunes so I want to make sure I can dd it lol

Wow, no one is giving beef for one at a time? Shocked. Did my truck the same way. 193k original gaskets.

Well done Sir.
