I am running a Custom billet S471 6X6 71x109 compressor with 83mm turbine wheel and.90 turbine housing. I’m looking for a better spooling turbski that can still push enough air for my 300/200s . Truck is an automatic. Need some help on this one fellas. Thanks 🙏

With a .90 housing it should spool pretty fast. I run a 1.10 housing on my s467.7 and it spools great

It seems like you have an S480 wheel that’s been cut down to 71. Your exducer is 13mm larger than the S472. My guess would be that a 472sxe would spool better and still flow enough on top. Just a guess!

Might look for exhaust leaks first. My 472sxe with a 87 turbine and 1.0 lights good. Compounds are an option always for the do it all.

0 boost or exhaust leaks . The thing is just sluggish but is expected from the size . My 471 has a bigger exducer on the compressor side than your 472 . My exducer is 109mm I think the 72s are like 96mm . So my compressor wheel even being billet weighs a good amount lol

How old is your 471 and what rpm are you trying to spool at?

It’s not super old . I rebuilt it with 360* bearings and had everything put through a parts washer and cleaned everything by hand. There is nothing wrong with the charger. She sees 55 psi daily with no issues lol . It has a custom cut compressor housing for the billet wheel from FI

It is a S471 that you can get from forced inductions. The compressor wheel is not cut . They make their own, but I’m looking for a little better spool so it’s for sale

What do you want out of the truck?
Street truck or race?
Mine ran 12.6 and spooled fast with 300/200’s and a 467.7

I want a street machine. I don’t race. Just don’t like the s300s because I have already popped a expensive custom s368 . But at the same time this s471/109 spools a little too slow for my taste and I believe it’s because the f the larger exducer.

I would go with a s472 sxe . That would give all the air you need. It will spool like a 467.

Go 467.7/83/1.10, my 472sxe lasted 3 weeks. Research and you'll find a bunch of issues with sxe turbos. I won't buy one again. The 467 will spool hard and is a fun street turbo and can take some abuse

How much back pressure at 60? That seems a little high.

I've got 50-60k mi on my 42r and it's done it all. I've seen 48-50# and runs good except laggy when towing heavy. Still enjoy hearing it spin down for a minute or so after I shut the truck off. Lol

Lots of newer borgs out now, but not sure about their durability.

There is a guy selling a brand new gt4294r supercore for 1,000 shipped . I can get a billet wheel for $200 and it would be better than a gtx for around 1500 after buying a turbine housing (Garrett turbine housing are outrageously expensive) . Or I can buy a brand new S472sxe with 1.10 turbine (I want a .90) for 1,200 after buying a .9 turbine housing . I can get a S467.7 fmw supercore brand new for 889 shipped and put the .90 turbine housing on it that’s on my s471.

Idk where to go . I also have a airwerks S366 6x6 billet wheel with a 1.** Turbine housing and brand new 360 bearings that is sitting on my dresser . I could beat on that for awhile . I’m sure it would light faster than my s400 :naughty:

I don’t like the 10-11 blade turbos. I have heard those 472sxe popping left and right. I think the bigger heavier turbine wheel is causing the shaft to wobble at higher shaft speed and psi causing the shafts to snap. What happened to yours?

Was definitely where I was headed but trying not to buy a granade lol .

I could get a S472sxe cheap right now from a military man in a bind
