If you have a turbo that is cleaning up all the fuel, then put a bigger turbo on, wouldn't the affect be minimal?

With the 38r I could hit 42 psi of boost, I never measured back pressure though,
With the 42R I could hit 52 psi of boost, stay 1 to 1 up to about 45 and at 52 psi of boost I'm about 65 psi back pressure.

my only thought if it had a looser turbine housing it would have less back pressure freeing up a few ponies.

The 38 probably has some back pressure.

Put if you put a 38r on a completely stock engine, I just think you will see much improvement.
