Achieved a new low today...8.9 dragging 9k into a friggin' 17-18 mph head wind. EGTs wanted to hang out at 950 +-100 depending on uphill or down. Locking out sixth dropped EGTs by 100 no matter if running 65 or 75. Oil temps were 220-235 and coolant was about 210 with a high of 220. Ignore the 19.1 mpg high in the attachment...that was a short highway trip running really easy. Highest actual was 18.8 highway with no wind, fairly flat and running 70-75. Best highway post weight loss was 17.9 driving 80-85 with several runs over 100.

Pre-weight loss best was 16.4 highway and 13.97 average for the first 5k. Post weight loss average is 15.35 excluding towing and 15.09 including towing. Never towed with it factory, and all are hand calc via, gas cubby and excel spreadsheet on factory Toyo ATs.

That's a long winded way of saying you're probably not doing all that bad.

I drive like a total grandma. Never rev over 1600, never get over like 30% engine load when acclerating, which equates to like 1/8th throttle. Takes me 15 seconds to hit 40mph and I still average 12. Wtf. Lol

This is just my experience (and I could be wrong) but I see a definite difference, for the better, with quicker acceleration to speed then light throttle to maintain speed vs slow gradual acceleration to speed

Now I don't mean hammer down but a good peppy accel..

I just find it comical that a tuned and ******d 6.7 can't get above 12 mpg running 80-85. My old duramax would knock down 18-21 running 80-85. That's turrrrible

You should be getting better than that. Talk to your tuner or Mike.

I have found tire pressures can make a huge difference with my truck.

I wish mine would touch that at those speeds. I don't think 14.5 is bad for always being in a race tune. I can dam near watch my fuel gauge drop if I run my all out tune just cruising along. I wish I could look at the fuel maps to see the difference between the all out and economy fueling. Granted I drive a dinosaur so it's like 75 max on the highway lol.

11-12 seem to net the best mileage, 13-14 a hair less and 15+ a lot less.

I seem to do pretty good with my 16. went from about 17 stock on the highway to 20 after weight loss. And I also switched from oem tires to 295 65 r20s. Im running the Patriot 500 tune with 2nd gear lockup. I noticed the best improvement while the engine was cold. It seemed the factory tune would dump the fuel with late timing to warm the exhaust. I am running full torque and switched to LE 8854, so I'm sure that helped.

I'm going to start adding full torque again to my tanks.

That's quite amazing for MPG. All hand calculated?

My 16 has been averaging high 13s to low 14s lately.
It has been nonstop wind here lately and I am usually driving in a 15mph crosswind.

I'm on a 2" level, 20x9 wheels & 35s with a Ranch hand in front which doesn't help either. All emission crap intact.

In 100% stock form I was averaging high 15 to low 16mpg.

I got better MPG stock. It's pretty funny. But would never go back. Just averaged 10mpg in Vegas lol.
