Speedo randomly works

Trying to help a friend fix his speedo on his 06 King Ranch. Speed sensor and connector on the rear axle are new. I have a good reading from the axle to the abs module. But no mph reading to the pcm. Sometimes it will randomly start working. But not usually.

Check g100, its by the left headlight. I believe There was an ssm for it coming loose, and causing intermittent speedo, abs lights, and a few other things.
