I have an 08 that melted the #1 piston and gouged the cylinder wall. What I would like to know is if you are able to sleeve these engines, as I believe I am past the point of boring?

Was going to try it but was told of a few people having issues down the road. whats left of the cylinder is pretty thin after boring for the sleeve.

Too thin in the back causes issues. From what I've seen any of the others are fine

I have a block that was ruined by sleeving it. There was not enough material at the bottom of the cylinder to hold the sleeve without cracking. I'm sure there are ways to do it but my machine shop cracked every cylinder they tried to sleeve. If you look at the bottom of each hole there is a half inch or so of cylinder below the webbing, that's where mine cracked.
You will need a good machine shop that's familiar with this engine. The guys that did mine are amazing on high hp gassers but not 6.4s...
