I love the looks of a cowl hood on an OBS.

It's a Cervini's fiberglass hood. That's a very nice looking hood Tom.

My buddy has a Cervini on his OBS the truck on this months DieselPower Magazine Cover. I like his too. He added gas struts to it so that you do not have to use a prop rod.

What kind of struts did he use. I'd rather have that than the prop rod.

Couldn't you get the struts for the SD trucks?

Tom, that engine compartment is unbelievably clean.

The struts for a SD are made for a steel hood. I'm afraid they might be too stiff and damage the hood.

Tom's engine compartment isn't clean it's SPOTLESS. :clapping:

I have had a Keystone hood for 5 years, and a Cervini now for 6 months. All with stock struts. No signs of stress cracks anywhere around the bolts.

Yes, but your hood(SD) was designed to use the struts. The Cervini OBS hoods were designed to use a prop rod

More pics!!

I've been kicking around getting a cowl hood for my dually but can't decide.

Also, info on the struts and pics of how they're mounted would be great.

I knew I should have gotten that hood when i wrecked my truck and re-did the front end. How does it fit? I read somewhere the fiberglass ones don't fit that well which is why i didn't get one.
