Uppipes or Turbo?

Ok...i've blown uppipes before but they didn't sound like this. Sound like another set of pipes or is this some sort of turbo housing contact noise?

I've never heard a turbo go out before, but i work on turbine engines in the marine corps and when they **** the bed there is grinding sounds... I know its not the same thing but its close enough I think...

Heard a 6.4 with the same noise, ended up being wheel/housing contact.

only does it at low RPM's. no soot anywhere either....

hmmm, might be something inside your turbo then like Dozer and Sir said... And i hope it isn't, Although that could give you an excuse to spend money:lookaround:

I'm with JJ. Pull the compressor off and keep your fingers crossed. You'll know more then anyways. Man I am sorry to hear about this. I really hope it is the up-pipes.

if i press down at all on the shaft nut and spin the wheel, it's rubbing the housing...no in and out play, but it has up and down play.

Ouch, no bueno. How difficult of a fix is that? Or would he have to rebuild it?

I have upgraded HD bellows in my uppipes and there is no soot anywhere.
