Default New 6.4 dual fueler

This is an informative thread here. Not selling this yet. So here's a sneak peek on the new "original" kit I'm working on.

Mounts on top to keep the factory alternator.

Run on the main belt no extra idlers, pulley or tensioners.

Solid 1 piece mount made of 3/8" thick material fully welded.

Uses stock k16

Two Hp lines feed the rail and other pump without t-fittings.

Kit is gonna be affordable and an improvement over others out there currently.

Only requires trimming the battery box and fan shroud.

We've got them running with no problems so far.

It could be done, but you'd need a body lift, battery box delete and reroute a bunch of stuff to make room. And it was a pita to make lol.

First batch of brackets back from the weld shop. Can't decide either to paint or powder coat. I'd like to powder coat but someone may not want the color I pick. And pairing will keep costs down. What do you guys think?

And right now I'm waiting on line sets. I will have quite a few ready when the lines are here.

At least you moved the pump unlike Beech who just made an exactly copy of my kit. Guess the price of dual fuelers is going to take a dive again. Good luck with it Morgan, like I told you, I have reasons why I think mine is better and you have reasons why you thinks yours is an improvement.

I knew after I made my kit and sold it that it would be copied. It was a simple design that works. Does it bother me that Morgan came out with this kit, yes a little, but I knew it was going to happen. Morgan changed enough that it is hard for me to be mad. The whole time the only thing I didn't want copied was pump location and the pulley size. Morgan didn't do that so it fair game. It is kind of like the intake manifold threads, there is only so many ways you can change it in the given space.

Beech's bothers me way more. He got a kit from me and started to copy it. Then when he couldn't get all the parts he called and lied to me about how he damaged parts in my kit to get me to send him what he needed. Then sends the kit to companies to sell to them.

Jeeze, its all you instigators that starts the pooh throwing. How many ways can you build a dual fueler kit... Pretty soon, chit is going to start looking familiar.

Me and Jeremy have talked about this before. Honestly my kit is not a copy of anyone's. the reason I decided to come out with this is because I didn't like parts of many other kits. Did I take ideas of other and use/improve on them? Yes. That's just capitalism.

But no other kit runs lines like mine, no other kit runs the belt like mine, no other kit mounts the pump like mine. After that I don't know how anything in the kit could be called a copy. I did not build this to be a knock off. I built it because I didn't like losing the main alternator. I didn't like using a cp3. I didn't like adding more pulleys and belts. I didn't like using T-fittings in the Hp fuel lines. So I made a kit that didn't do any of those things.

Yes, I'm sure other companies will be upset, but that's just the way it is. It's not a dig at Jeremy or anyone else. I had an idea and I went with it. Only time will tell if it was a good venture.

All the other kits have their good and bad points. The customer will make their ultimate decision on what they like.

It's called taking a design and improving on it.... Commonly known as progression. What do you think happens everyday in this world with just about every product made for anything. If know one took someone else's design and tried to improve on it, even in the smallest way, we would still be driving around in horse and buggies. Don't clutter the thread with pointless chit, espically some relating to someone else that copied your design and has absolutly zero to do with this thread and this person, because your dick hurt. Get over it and move on with life.

Great job Morgan and all the boys at Midwest

How many failed pumps confirmed with his pulley?
How many cracked blocks?
Cracked pistons?
Long story short i lve got 18k on my kit and the pump was used from a motor with over a 100k
I think that those who worry about overdriving the pump will see other issues before the pump....also arent we overdriving these trucks in every way anyhow?

Good new guys. The new kits are going to be for sale next week as the lines are shipped to me showing delivery on Thursday. I will release the pricing soon and have that all announced on my sponsor page. Will put a link in here as soon as I do.

I would recommend offering different colors or a raw bracket if they are willing to wait for a new batch, like if your gonna make a new set and they wanna get it done a different color then just dont charge for the powder coat and let the customer deal with it. Ive done this with a few products and have been very pleased that this option was available. Just had to be patient.

They are all going to be the same color. If someone wants to change it then that's up to them. I am not powder coating in order to keep the end cost down for the customers. They are all painted black. I have to paint them in order to keep things from rusting and different colors would end up costing too much time and money on a large scale. I think people will be pleased at the pricing for what they are getting.

Why the whining? The more popular the diesels get the more the cost of parts will be driven down and copied or "progressed" People want something if they cant find what they want they make it, have it made,or modify a current version. Open a JEGS or Summit book. Most pages have 10 different item of the same thing. Small block chevy heads all look the same but each one is just slightly different enough for different applications. So that being said good luck with this morgan and others all well. In the end we all want the same thing reliable horse power.

Subbed looks like a good set up. Don't need to trip the valve cover?

My 6.4L has the dual alternator set up on it. Looks like the K16 pump is mounted where my top alternator is right now. Can the top alternator just be removed without having any issues? Should the bottom alternator then be replaced with a higher output? Does anything need to be done with the wiring going into the top alternator once it has been deleted? Lastly will a CEL show up on the dash by removing the second alternator and if so how do you get around that?

I gotta say I love the goals you accomplished with this kit, simplifying, and eliminating components in other kits without requiring alternator relocation or valve cover chopping. I speculated you would put it where you did when I first heard you mention you were working on it, but it fits much better than I imagined it would. Congrats.

is that a really nice way of saying I get to keep both my stock alternators without moving them or deleting one? If it is thanks for being so kind to me.

Ha ha, no. I was referring to the OP. there isn't a twin pump kit on the market that allows you to utilize both alternators unfortunately. Consider HO if you need to support a major electrical draw, and still want twin hpops.

Oh OK. Is it a big deal to just remove the top alternator?

The dual pump kit would require you to remove the secondary alternator. It can be removed easily. But the truck will have to have the dual alternator configuration changed at the dealer or by someone competent with IDS. This would be the same for any dual fueler kit.

But the truck will have to have the dual alternator configuration changed at the dealer or by someone competent with IDS. This would be the same for any dual fueler kit. The charging system will work fine with one alternator, just the same as a single alternator truck would from the factory. The only downfall would be the battery light will be on on the dash. But that's fixable. And if you were really concerned you could put an H.O. Alt on it too.
