2004+2013+2006=2009.5? Superduty Body Transformation

So this started with me getting a new box because mine was starting to rust. So I found a 2013 take off with the box, tailgate, bumper, and lights already painted my same color for 1000 bucks.
I got the box on and was kinda fine with the differences in the wheel arches, but I took some chrome off of the wheel wells and noticed quite the rust hole in the front fender. So then I was contemplating a 2013 front end conversion, but really dont like the headlights or grill on the 2013 and didnt have enough time to get that done before racing season started.
So I decided to get crafty. I ordered up some OEM ford 2013 fenders and cut them up. Then I cut up my 2004 fenders to created a hybrid fender of awesomeness.
It got kind of difficult at the end of the fender because they are very different, so I had to in a way, make part of the end of the fender just using some sheet metal. It was also difficult because when I welded, it sucked the metal tight, and created for some issues that I had to grind as I went. This was my first body project that I have ever done, so I wasnt really sure what to expect, but I am very happy with how it turned out!

That actually turned out pretty nice.

You did a pretty nice job putting the fenders together. Did you coat the back side of the fender?

Worst thing with welding like that is it creates a perfect place for rust to start again.

thanks guys. yes, I made sure there was no little pin holes, then i por15ed it, and then lined the back of the whole fender. no way it will start to rust there, I made sure of that!

looks really good, if I may suggest any more additions, I would upgrade to 08 tow mirrors, 1a auto has them for a very reasonable price too. i think 360 for a set, they are aftermarket not oem, but for that price...its worth it.

Thanks guys. The 2008 mirrors are on the list, but first I have to do my fuel system. Kind of thinking about a 2013 front bumper as well, but will have to see if I would like that look or not.

nice!!! I thought about doing a 2011 front end conversion on my 2010 f350 but i'm gonna wait until it needs a bed, then do convert all of it to the new body style.imp:
