FICM Logic Board Fried

DAMNIT!!!

Driving yesterday about 3 miles from home...just died, no coughs sputters or anything, just like the key was turned off. Luckily coasted into a church parking lot, and no traffic to boot. Read the CTS codes, FICM supply voltage low.

So we get a rid home from my sister. I went back out with some tools to pull the FICM. Ended up towing it home, after taking FICM out and putting back in, and it still didnt start.

This morning I go and pull the FICM again, pull it apart to the smell of burnt electronics. BPD side looks A-ok...logic board is darkened in an area (not burnt, but obviously screwed to hell).

Guess I lost the Atlas 40 tune. Where the hell do I get the logic side?

First plug was slightly loose on initial inspection, FYI...

You can buy the logic side by itself or another used ficm and take the main board out and swap.

So I'm looking at the logic side and I'm wondering...can the big chips on the other end (away from where it burned), which I would assume are the "programming chips" part of the logic board, be swapped over.

Basically, I'm wondering where the Atlas 40 tune (and the other "programming") is located, the entire board, or one of the large chips at the top? I think they made it out unscathed, perhaps they can be salvaged and put into another logic board?

Interesting idea. But I think it would throw off the entire programming on the other chips.

Where it fried are a bunch of: 2N0615's which are "NXP 74AXP Extremely-Low Voltage Si-Gate CMOS Logic"

Those are transistors and SMD resistors, the info will be stored on the eeprom chips.

I wouldn't mess with swapping components. They are a PITA to solder correctly, very heat sensitive. The logic boards are plentifully, and cheap. IMO they are very abundant thus allowing more room for negotiations on price when you find one.
