well since she's been on the road for a while i figured id let you guys know how she was doing. for those who don't know she split number 3 in into about a million nice shiny pieces. it split on decel and since its a stick i think is why it didn't lock up because it came apart at the top right below the wrist pin and proceeded to have a field day with everything above and below it. it made a hell of a sound so i tore it all down and found this..

so after talking to marty and dave at swamps for a couple weeks i still didn't know what i wanted to do because everything from the heads down was trash accept for 4 or 5 piston and rod assemblies. then i heard about another user having a built block with hypermax rods pistons girdle and fire ring heads i decided that was the best route to go for right now...

so went and picked up the engine. had about 10k on it since it was built and the guy had it in the garage so that was all good. brought her home in this sweet azz crate and heres what she looked like. got her prepped and painted up and outfitted with my injectors and plenums and turbo mount. i also resealed the oil pan as per recommendation because it had a red type sealant that was pretty brittle. when i took the pan off i realized that the oil pickup had a modded spacer where it bolts to the block and that was also red sealed so i took that off and sealed it with the for blue stuff... or so i thought.. but ill get to that later.

so i dropped her in and meanwhile i bought a 15$ poor man polishing kit to do the stainless ic pipes up with. it did alright for what it was. so here they are polished vs unpolished and here she is about 5 months later finally seeing the light of day again after many cold days long nights and swear words.

so she's full of oil coolant back on the tires ready rock and roll. half hour goes by of trying to start it. another hour. no go. ***. so i called marty and after a convo with him and not having oil psi, i filled the rails and res. well what do you know she fires... for a bout 10 seconds and dies. the disappointment is unbearable so long story short i took it to a buddy and he primed the whole oil system and she still would not grab the oil. remember how i thought i sealed up the oil pickup? yea well turns out i only sealed the one side of the spacer and not the other. rookie mistake of the year... so i tore it down again sealed it up and put humpty dumpty together again. so here she is ready to go. finally she fires. took her out for a spin and started leaking oil from the front oil cooler gasket. gaskets were replaced and she still leaks but not as much. among some other leaks I'm sick of working on it. so she's been running like that for a while. had some minor issues here and there but got about 5k on it so far of street driving. also had some OUO love from jared and got that stuff installed.

that brings me to the present after about 5k on the clock got her done for last summer and prom and what not. installed some fox 2.0s that are smooth as butter. combined with the traction bars its a completely different truck. but thats about it. just washing and driving. I'm currently at college so she had to be left at home but here she is. hopefully gonna get the oil leaks fixed this summer and get a locker in it but I'm content with just driving it. Enjoy. hope you guys like the write up.

don't mind the burnouts in the driveway. dad turned 50 and it got a little wild :pint:  :biggun:

Man I wish I kept my obs but I know the pain of leaving the truck for college but the real fun begins when you get kicked out and can't afford a place to work on anything! Lol good looking truck tho!

Well I found out my dad had been driving my truck with zero fuel pressure while I was at college. Not sure how it happened but the power wire for my fuel pump was melted at the battery which I found when I got home. So I fixed that and the truck seems to be running fine. Other than that I had some weight on the other day like 5-6k. With the 40s and 3.55s and it being a stick she pulled it up the mountain at 70mph 9% grade. Egts were about 1k -1200° boost was 15psi and it was 3rd gear about 24-2600 rpm. Found out my cell light comes on when egts get above 1200 for some reason but it doesn't affect how it runs so not sure why its doing that. Other than that I'm pretty pleased with it
