Im currently running 285/70r17 = 33s I purchased some oem 20" harley wheels and came with 275/65r20 = 34s and still looked to small. Went to tire shop and bought a used 35x12.5r20 just to experiment fitment. It looked good and now my question is can I fit 20x12 or just stick to maybe a 20x10 because on 99-04 trucks you need to run a 2" spacer for 05 and up wheels?

Your gonna need at least a 4in with lot of trimming preferably a 6in to fit 35 and 20x12. 35s & 20x10 will fit with a level may have pull fender liner back. I know there are guys on here that run 20x12 with 33s with stock height or close to stock. Check wheel and tire thread.

That's the same thing the guy at the suspension shop said when I rolled up and asked him if I can fit a 35x12.5 on my truck. He looked at me like he'll no. He said I need a 6" lift minimum and quoted me like 4 k for lift tires and wheels. Idk what my truck has but 35s seem to fit good. And it's a 2wd that's what's driving me crazy.

When i had my 04 one of my favorite combinations i had on my truck was a leveling kit with some 35/12.5 on 16x10. Filled the wheel wells great.

pretty sure you will be fine with a 4inch lift. If you go to a 6inch they are gonna look small

He might be but I know when I had 12.5 wide tires and 10 wide wheel with 4" I was close when I articulated. If he stay on flat ground all time he should be fine. But I agree 35 on 6in do look small.

I'll probably just stick with the harley wheels and put the 2" wheel spacers. Thanks for the advice guys!!

oh yea if you want to try and stuff the rear tire into the bed sure it will rub, but normal day to day driving should be no problem

Never had issues with rear always front. Not trying argue i agree with you should be no issue with day driving. For me tho, a lot of the driveways where I lived were at almost a 30 degree angle and what was enough for me to rub.

I put a 2" spacer so the 05 harley wheels won't hit at full turn and won't be too much inside the fender but they stick out too much. Is it because of the 12.5 wide tire? I'm thinking of buying a 1.75" spacer and 295/65 toyo mt. Will the 1.75" spacer and 295/65 tires make it flush with fender?
