Okay guys i am about to buy a set of tires. My truck has a leveling kit on it. I have stock wheels. Will i be able to fit a 315/75/16. Looking at getting the toyo open country mt. Tire size atm is 265/70/16 ? i believe. With going to the bigger tire will i notice a big loss in power?.

I dont care too much if i lose 1-2 mpg. The truck is a 2000 f250 7.3, auto, 3.73 gears, 6 position chip, valvebody, wicked wheel, 4" exhaust, 6637 filter.

I daily drive my truck. But i would like some offroad capability. Also does anyone have pictures of this setup.

Im running 315's. Look at my avatar. I'll try and post up a pic if I have one handy. I did'nt notice power loss or mpg loss either. I was previously running 285 75 16's on the factory steel wheels. Got factory aluminums and 315's and didnt notice a change.

I work in the tire industry and previously had 315's on my truck and went to a 285 Federal MT and didnt notice a difference, for a diesel with power I should have stayed with the wider tire. It is easier to spin my tires now.

SWEET! thats a nice looking truck boostleak. Some tow mirrors would be a nice touch.

Thanks. I'm working on the towing mirrors lol. I got a set for free from a sideswiped truck. The driver's side is busted and Ford only sells the whole mirror, not the back rounded part. I just gotta find someone who wants to sell just one or both for cheap lol. And as for tires I just ordered these: https://www.treadwright.com/p-77-315-75r16-guard-dog-m-t-d.aspx

Research them.

Actually shes gonna be ridin on those wheels/tires again here soon. I'm gonna run em during the winter and the new wheels/tires during the spring/summer/fall.

Of course the rest of the truck looks different than those pictures too. Heres how she sits now, just for ****s and giggles...

315s will definitely make your mileage go down. I've tracked every tank since I bought the truck, and going from 285s to 315s on the same wheels cost me 2 MPG on the highway (went from 18.5 to 16.5). Around town is worse. Didn't notice a power loss while unloaded, but do when towing heavy (8000lbs).

With my lift and tires (315/75/16, 5"lift in front, 3" in rear) I go through a half tank driving 190 miles whatever that equals to. Somewhere like 13. This is on highway too

I'm running 315/75/16 on factory wheels with a leveling kit as well. I can feel a slight loss in power but I went from the stock size to this. It still has some get up and go though

Yeah my mileage came down a bit too, but nothing unheard of. I'm 70% in town with a trailer on 90% of the time anyway, so mileage is about 15.5 at every fillup.

It goes up to 18 on the highway if I keep it down at 65...but I never do.

That is a good looking truck.

Appreciate the compliment. I liked it then and love it now. I always said before I did the swap that it wouldn't be a terrible thing to keep it the way it was, but I wanted the swap done so I did it.

In km that works out too about 500 km eh? a tank. And i get about 550 km a tank right now on stock tires. Im more converned about power difference unloaded than fuel efficiency.

315s for sure. Still trying to find a set to put back on my stock wheels. My favorite set-up other than current. I have had 285s, 295s, 305s, and 315s.

I'm still up in the air about 315s... I love the way they look, but I miss the extra 2 MPGs I got from the 285s. :fustrate:
