VLED has a set I want to try but at $250 they're steep since I had a bad experience with the lifetime leds. The VLED lights are fully adjustable and are suppose to fill the light pattern better.

I have a set of retrosolution hids coming in today so that's what I'm going with for now.

I'm just realizing that now..same thing. I might switch to HID once I find out on another members here experience is on another LED bulb that he is trying. My son put in HID's..and I'm sure it was a cheap version due to limited funds..all he had was one bad experience after another..Im on the road and need reliability.

I've ran ddm tuning hids and retro solutions hids and had nothing but problems. Ddm has horrible customer service, retro solutions customer service is better. But it's just the hassle. So far these morimoto haven't given me an issue. So I'll probably stick with them when I go back to hids in the 6.0.

Im working with Todd from Retro Solutions and was frustrated at first going back and forth with PM's but he did call me and he has was great to deal with. I have a problem with one faulty led bulb not being as bright and has a lower beam pattern so he is sending another type of bulbs on Monday for me to try that another member has tried with a better focal point. When I get these Ill compare the two types of LED's.

What I'm learning is all these LED's from the venders are basically the same.. the lows are very good, but highs are just barely brighter. Our problem is when we switch to hi beams, driving/fog lights automatically turn off...there has to be some way to keep them on...or even better have Hi/Low and driving lights on when you switch.. ANYONE have a solution. Thanks guys. Jeff

I lost my oracle LED light on the passages side in 5,000 miles. Started flickering then just quit. High been would work but low beam was dead.

I have high/low rigid D2's wired in as my fog lights on the low setting then when I flip my high beam switch the high beam head lights and high beams on the rigids come on as well. Solved the dim brights problem. I really don't want to go with HID's as they seem to have quite a few problems as well, hopefully a good set of LED head lights will be available soon

Buy a QUALITY set of HIDs, do a projector retro and be done. I have the same set of HIDs in my gto since 2005. I have the same set of HIDs in my truck since 2012. Stop buying junk and it'll be just fine.

Been thinking about this same thing. Killer idea. Can you run the "low beam" on the street or do you get flashed?

I run it on the street all the time. I rarely get flashed. Part of that may be the truck sitting higher that stock

Since install in aug 14 I've only been flashed a handful of times and I really like the output and pattern just gotta look at my high beam issue when I have time this week.
I have 0 plans of going back to HID

Hmm, our headlight height has got to be similar, I have less lift and more tire. Cool I think I'm going to give this a try too. Thanks.

Unless the headlight housing/reflector is designed for LED or HID bulbs, the light pattern is not going to be correct. The OEM housing has been designed to be used with a halogen bulb.

I went through this crap with my truck. I went back to halogen and no issues.

Everyone keeps talking about how the stock housing is not made for hid bulbs. That the pattern will be off.

Someone explain this.

What the difference between these two bulbs?

Once we've covered the difference then we can move on to the geometry of light and such..

In theory, any source of light placed in the same place of a reflector housing should produce the same light pattern. I just haven't seen it happen yet.
