Modified the Excursion this weekend!

Well I got tired of looking at the parts on the shelf and the delta was getting a little too high for comfort, so we gave the Ex a little attention. Its the wife's so she wanted to do most of the work. Fine by me! Lol! We recently bought the 100% bone stock 4x4 2003 Eddie Bauer Ex with 160k miles on it. It already had privacy glass tinting and leather. Now it has a pioneer touch screen in dash DVD/CD/navigation, DVD player with screens in the headrests, infinity speakers, Warn hubs, Matt's tuning, 4" straight pipe exhaust that I wrapped to keep in cab noise down, new oil cooler, studs that were done 1 at a time, blue spring and 6.4 banjo bolts, EGR delete, 05 intake horn with the EGR throttle deleted, and a rebuilt 05 turbo and pedestal with a polished compressor housing. Coolant filter should be here in a couple days, I'm going to find a good grille guard, and she hasn't decided what rims and tires she wants yet. It runs like a striped ape, sounds freaking awesome with the windows down, and is actually quieter than before with the windows up!! Of course my thanks goes to Jake at Irate Diesel Performance for all the parts!!

That's right. Wife did most of the work! Even the head studs!! You don't want to piss off the woman that is strong enough to torque studs in the truck!!!

becareful with the paper towels in the hpop resevoir, im sure you noticed how course the casting is its like a magnet for list fibers from towels and rags.

you wont be able to run the new style pedestal with the 03 style intake manifold. the rear crossover is in the way of the rear turbo to pedestal bolt.

Yup. It sure WAS. By exactly 3/8". I didn't say I didn't help her. She's not quite as good at fabrication as I am. imp:

There's no difference in turbos. She just didn't want it to be deafeningly loud and i had that one laying around so we stuck it on there. With the 05 turbo and the wrap on the down pipe its just as quiet as it was stock. Maybe a bit more. Now you roll the windows down and you'll hear what was on the vid! Lol! Its actually pretty funny to hear this bad ass truck wooping up on all the ricers and turn around to see this stock looking mini bus. Hahaha!!!

I don't see any reason why it won't hold up. There wasn't any signs of head problems to begin with. What's it going to do? Magically blow a headgasket during the stud install? I mean really. It'll hold up just fine. I gave it a good thrashing today and no problems.

i did mine this way about 5,000 miles ago so far no problems

to the op nice ex i just hope you got a deal cause ive seen some of those good for big money as you cant get them anymore
