I wonder how they come uP with a price like that!?

The labor hours required to produce a set. Could it be done cheaper, most likely! Isnt that how every product is? Do it yourself and you save money, but this is for people without mad fab skills, look at the price of 7.3 headers....they aren't cheap either

A piece like this should be built to order in my opinion.

Do you guys actually understand that this is a custom built part made one off at a time per order and its not some small block Chevy part built in a jig in lots of thousands? There just is not enough people in the market for something like this to be able to produce enough of them in any way that will significantly reduce the price.

maybe if they did make a jig for these, they would sell more.... that price is pretty steep. worth it for "custom" work - maybe. Can it be done cheaper - YES.

In the end, once you have one set, it's not too difficult to make a jig to make more of the for a lot cheaper. I've done it with motorcycle exhaust and we were able to cut the price in half. I understand the whole custom thing, but there are ways to build some things cheaper and not take a whole lot of extra time.

But, I would love to have a set, but i can use that much money on more things than a set of headers. If I had a pure race truck, it's be more toward the top of the list.

not to mention i believe that actual header style manifolds don't perform as good as a log style header like what's on Jesse Warrens truck, or what MPD builds, or what BWD has. Actual headers like the sinister ones have been known to crack and leak. JMO but, personally i would never waste my time or money on a set like them.

I don't wanna sound like a negative Nancy...but one problem i see is the fact that there is way too much pipe surface exposed to the outside air. (Which will cool off your exhaust gases, and not help spin up the turbine.)

Be keeping the exhaust in a "log" style manifold, there is less surface area exposed, and it helps keep the heat energy in the exhaust gas.

Just my opinion.

But its great to see more people makin aftermarket stuff for the 6.0 and the 6.4L

Well I dont know about whether these exact headers are needed or not but I would think that just like on the intake side, modding the exhaust side to flow better would be equally as beneficial. Especially with the more fuel you throw at the motor. I personally like Steed Speed manifolds the best out of everything I have seen so far. JMO though.

I agree with Ivan, but maybe a wrap would solve that issue. The issue that concerns me is multiple weld joints and multiple heat cycles = cracks. Price doesn't seem all that far off. I paid 8 grand for a set of 180 degree SS headers for a 66 GT40.

What if you ceramic coated the inside of them to hold the heat in? I'd think that would help tremendously, but I still like the looks of the Steed log style better.

Flow is important, but so is heat. Heat is really what's spinning the turbo's up. You lose heat with more surface area to be cooled, where a log style manifold you can keep a lot of that heat in, too hard for it to dissipate.
