well here's an old thread BUT it's finally gotten updated. I went and got rid of my 22x12's and 40's because I found a HUGE steal on a set of BRAND NEW 40" M16's on 24x12 Rockstars ( I regretted selling my rockstars the day I did it and wanted them back immediately afterward ).

here's the most recent pictures.

my new garage since we recently moved ( November 1st we got a house about 30 miles up the road from where I was living in a MUCH larger house...........WITH A GARAGE!!!! )
MY NEW GARAGE, I'm still in the process of prepping the garage with new things like a work bench, welder, bench grinder, bench vise, new toolbox and a few other odds and ends.

after 5 months of nothing but crappy weather I decided to wash the truck ( really didn't help because the next day it rained........AGAIN! )

right now the entire stereo system is out of the truck and I've got a date set with a local leather company to have the interior redone ( FINALLY ) and I just ordered my entire track bar kit from ballistic metal fabrication as well as everything to build a set of traction bars for it. My next plan of attack is a little bit more power, here soon I'm looking to get a stage of hybrids, 38r turbo, t500 HPOP, better tunes, propane injection, 6.0 transmission cooler, 4.56 gears, stage 3 built transmission ( eventually ), coolant filtration kit ( I have it, I just need to install it )...and a few other little toys.

lol, I've heard the con's and pro's of propane and talked to one of Rudy's mechanics a few years ago about it and he absolutely loves it, I know everyone has their own results...and I shouldn't because if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

nitrous is actually safer than pane.... Start a thread before you do it and ask the question on propane. There have been a lot of people who have replaced motors running propane for a power adder. I know quite a few that learned the hard way.

I would stick with the basics. Go with the hybrids, do head studs, 38R, BTS Trans/JW Trans (or a good torque converter, shift kit, and a valve body (NO SUNCOAST)), mild oil T500 or just stick with a good stocker, and run the hell out of it. Or just chip it, billet turbo wheel, intake exhaust and leave it alone and drive it forever!! LOL

You are not going to win any races on 40's, it will just give you some extra getup and go... Anymore power than that and you are going to be blowing out axles and drivelines... LOL

Don't forget to put that front driveline in? Have you clocked your t-case yet? You should for-go the power adders and switch out to some 08+ axles. Then you will really confuse people... and you would love the improved turning radius!!!

Lol, no I haven't clocked the case yet. it's next on my list after we get a few things situated with the new house before the interior. Im trying to find a good deal on a used ring and crossmember so I can save a few dollars...after the case is done I want to save from my next deployment for a set of king rezi 2.5" prerunner shocks. and I wasn't going with propane for the power I was wanting to use it for a mileage adder . I did however find a complete NX 150 wet kit here locally for 150 dollars....would that be the better way to go? I know it's not going to win any races, I just want alt more get up out of it....it's just too slow for me, I want to be able to move the truck without alot of screaming..and I also want to not be all show and no go...

I wouldn't worry about anything to make your mileage improve. Plus propane is expensive.

I would throw the hybrids and 38R on and see how you like it. It will be completely different than it is now. LOL. You might be very happy with it.

well guys....I deployed again....so stay tuned for more progress ....I actually listed my truck for sale and my wife FLIPPED out....actually threatened to leave me if I sold the truck and didn't finish it....HOLY CHIT!

since the last update quite a few things have been done
08 rear seat
I actually swapped even up my single shock brackets for a set of ICON dual shock hoops

so I decided to do a few things since I had some BAD LUCK...3 days before I deployed the truck jumped out of gear and hit the garage ruining the tailgate ( was fixable but wouldn't have been happy with it ) so I decided to do a few things...

*99-07 gate with shaved handle and emblems
*Grant Kustomz Rollpan with no license plate box and 13" LED strips
*Grant Kustomz taillight fillers
Sky-Manufacturing remote track bar kit
F.O.A. 2.5" Pre-Runner Rezi shocks ( dual up front and singles in rear )
Stereo system
4-10" Rockfords in a custom built fiberglass center console
6-6.5" Rockford Components with 1.25" tweeters
Q-Form Kick panels
2-Rockford 1000 watt 2 channel amps
1-Rockford 250x4 amp
7" reverse monitor built into fiberglass console
all new black interior ( FINALLY )

eventually I'll build some traction bars as well....but for now.....I'll go with what I'm doing now...

here are some random shots I took before I deployed right after I washed my baby and gave her the detailing of a lifetime....I found the greatest stuff for detailing and washing and waxing...it's this stuff called Killerwaxx Las Vegas it is AMAZING stuff!!!! My buddy turned me onto it, it's just expensive...here's also a pic of a bad "paintshop photoshop" rendition of how the rearend is going to look when I'm done.

here's the random clean shots with a great reflection pic

I also went on ebay and ordered some license plate bolts that match the theme :)

in the pics you can also see the ICON dual track bar shock hoops that I traded EVEN UP for my stock shock brackets!!!!!

and the entire reason I have this project and what keeps me going while I'm deployed.

Nice job with the build.....one of a kind for sure.

If you like it that's all that matters.

BUT...............

That has got to be one of the worst tire/lift/wheel combo's ever!!!!!!!

All the time you spent on the rest of the truck and you came up with that???????

Horrible!!

Just an opinion...I do respect the build just HATE the stance.
