I send the tuning devise to the customer with a refundable core fee for them to flash there FICM and refund the fee once I receive the devise back.

my mileage went up from the latest ford ficm calibration. All you need is to buy a Gryphon from PHP like I did, or rent their programmer. You will without doubt in my mind see gains with this. My truck is so much more fun to drive now, and smoke levels are far less, shift was vastly improved, especially matched with Matt and Chris' Tuning.

The truck I just bought is coming with an edge CS which I am taking out as soon as it arrives - but on PHP website it says you can use your old CS and "convert" it to a gryphon.

Does anyone know exactly what is involved with this?

I believe it has to be one of the older monochrome ones or the smaller color one. You would send it in and they would upload their own firmware/software on the unit. But you can never update it etc because then PHPs stuff will be wiped.

My understanding was it had to be one of the old style evolution programmers from edge? But i had mine turned into one about 4 months ago and run the economy file with my 190's and really like it.

This is what PHP website says:

"UPGRADING YOUR EVOLUTION CS / EVOLUTION CTS to a GRYPHON CS / GRYPHON CTS
You do NOT need to send your Evo CS or Evo CTS to us to be upgraded. If you own an Evo CS or Evo CTS, you'll need to fill out an order form for Gasoline, 7.3L, 6.0L , or 6.4L Calibrations to be delivered via Edge's Fusion Software. When your custom tunes are completed, you will be able to download them directly to your programmer.

If you currently own a Gryphon with custom tunes and purchase a CS or CTS from PHP, we will load your custom tunes onto your new programmer at no charge."

Sounds like you don't even need to send it to them. Here is a pick of the unit currently in the truck.

They send you an email after you order , you make a phone appointment , walk you through a download , plug in your edge and it reboots with all there software . Took about 20 minutes .

They no longer convert the cs and cts units.

The CS and CTS dont have the capability to flash FICMs anyway

I just did my evo about a month ago. One of the better mods I have done.

The best thing to do is communicate directly with them and let them know all the info on the back of the edge, or take a pic of it a attach it to your emails.

Great group of guys down there!

So are they or are they not converting. I went digging more after reading Dave's post and their website and forum says they are not converting anymore due to issues with the fusion software from edge??? But if you just got yours done a month ago....maybe edge sorted out the issues with fusion and they are converting again ?

Was yours a regular evo? Or a CS or CTS?

They will still convert regular EVOs

Either way you cannot convert a CS or CTS to an FICM tuner. It doesnt have the needed hardware for it
