Mind did a very similar thing. It ended up being a broken pin in the harness going into the BCM. It took $540 worth of labor to find it. Mine is way out of warranty.

The cooling system is totally different than the duramax. The trans is not part of the normal system, it has its own. Apparently you don’t have anything to worry about until 245.

I am in the same boat. If you look at my towing miles it looks like I am running a hotshot service on the side.
What really sucks is you can't disable it while you're driving and you realize what's going on. You have to come to a stop in order to change that setting.

You have to go into the trailer screen and select no active trailer. That will put the back to normal. Unfortunately you have to do this every time you unhook a trailer. I don't see how ford missed this one. It's just silly.

If you tow a lot make sure you think hard about a retractable cover. I have a retrax cover and it's great but the drum it rolls up into at the front of the bed severely limits your auxiliary fuel tank options. Especially if you have a short bed.

Look for the small black fuse box on the driver fender under the hood. This holds the relays and fused for the upfitter switches.
Below this small black box you will find the Blount cut wires.
Here is a video to help.

I know this is a newb question but I am am a newb so that makes sense. What is the practical difference between tuning through the OBD port vs the ECM?
