Oil recommendations/questions
I was previously running 15w40 Rotella, nothing bad to say about it. -
paranoid 6.4 owner
Just did an oil change and went 10w30 route. My cold start tick is less noticeable (10 seconds max) and truck runs smoother. I'm guessing that a lifter might be a little sticky or something. I'm on a fresh rebuild and everything is new.. I don't loose any sleep over it- groove

Oil recommendations/questions
I'll add my two cents - just did my 4th oil change on my new build engine and went with Motorcraft 10w30. Seems lots of guys are running it and I thought I would give it a whirl. I noticed immediately on starting with the 10w30 it ran smoother and quieter. So far, I'm a believer! -

Mine makes the same noise, when it's cold Goes away 30 seconds. I have 10k on full rebuild - lifters , rockers, pushrods, heads ect. Not getting worse so I just drive her Maybe just a noise it makes....these 6.4's can make some strange ones!- groove

Truck home from Ford and say I need new engine...
Or possibly a cracked ring. My engine had 3 cracked rings....lots of oil in the downpipe. However, that's fairly rare, so I would look at the turbos first. Much more likely. -

Clock Spring Replacement
So, anyone have first hand experience with this? No cruise, no horn and now airbag light....I'm voting clock spring Just curious if there are some members that have done it -
