If you hear the pump run but don't hear the vgt actuate. Then there isn't any voltage going to the vcv and pcv on the pump. So they default to full open until they have voltage. So the pump will not build pressure.

If the injector isn't torqued down properly it will let combustion blow past the crush washer and aerate the return fuel going to the bowl and fill it with air. Thus shutting the truck off

I did a 68mm vgt and that is a fun setup. That was from brenton at side action diesel. That is with 100's and dual pumps.

Nice looking build bud! I would ditch the air dog and get a fuelab, and also grab some side action diesel valve springs and pushrods while your at it. It's easy to float the valves with the stock springs.
