I never recommend using boost to OPEN a gate. When you pop, melt or blow off the signal line (and you will), your gate doesn't open... Put enough spring to make the gate undershoot your desired boost then use regulated air to the top port to RAISE boost to what you desire. If you blow a line...- Charles

You can't do anything without a gate and compounds unless you tune the truck for very, very low power. With the two largest turbine housings available for the 38R and 47 I was running pretty large amounts of gate to stay under triple digit boost. It was all good. My original 02 boot doesn't have that foam piece in the first place, so having a tear in this one when laying flat on a table wasn't an issue. Well, my point being, I had originally intended to make the change over at the rag joint myself, but after taking it apart saw that the rivets were "stepped", such that they have a shoulder in the shank that bears the tension of the clamp load instead of placing it on the flexible rubber joint...- Charles
