Ball bearings are a waste IMO for the first stage. I have never had an issue with spool and you will definitely never, ever, ever drive that first stage anywhere near the limits of the chra in a compound setup so strength is a non-issue. Alright, I had a couple days over the break to look at this again and am seriously considering doing coilovers and a new axle, despite my reservations about ruining an otherwise perfectly good riding/handling truck... Deathwobble and powerhop..... no thanks.... Otherwise that would be the easiest fix in history, lol. I would love to run parallel 4 link with king coilovers, but every year Ford tries to fix that system it gets worse than the year before.- Charles

Yep.... I have already ordered two johnny joints to make up a new trackbar so I can push the driver's side mount about an inch rearward for this reason. I don't think the diff will ever get high enough to strike it, but I'll have to try and cycle it some to see. I ordered tie rod ends that...- Charles

That's not the reason, drilling and tapping the knuckle "stop" for an adjustment bolt would be easy. Easier still would be reaming the 02 knuckles to accept the 05 tie rod. The problem would be the leafspring physically occupying the point in space where the drag link comes down. The reason...- Charles

I have no doubt it would do perfectly well. I imagine it might spool a bit slower than a 38R, so out of the hole it might show that a bit, but a compound truck is rarely under the chargers... so I doubt it would be a big deal. I don't know what kind of boost those can take and stay together...- Charles

I would actually just re-thread the 05 "right outer tie rod" and use it at the pitman arm but it's a wear item, meaning that every time I want to replace it I would have to do machine work. I also thought about machining the center out of both pitman arms (the 05 and 02) and pressing the 02...- Charles

If I put together a setup to roam the streets today and I was willing to fit a second charger, I would run stock compression, partially filled block, 300/200's, 38R and GT55 with GT4718 Compressor.... That last part seems strange, but the turbine is just so efficient in the 55, but the 88mm...- Charles

Resurrection time... Right now I have a 2016 box from the VIN posted here hanging off the frame on my 02. So far I can tell you the input shaft is obviously different, I plan to grind the rivets out of the old "rag joint" and install the new end from the 2016 lower shaft onto my old shaft...- Charles

Wanted to report, still running 300/200's with stock PMR and stock Trans. Tows like an animal.... Stock single fuel pump seems to be laying down on top but I don't have gauges and I don't care. I would say it drives like stock, but then stock injectors can't lug like this.... too damn slow...- Charles

I cap the SOI because I don't like the idea of my truck rodding the block because a sensor came unplugged or crapped out. That and mechanical trucks making over 2000hp don't even have variable timing. So at the extreme, it's not even required to have timing ever change. Every 800+ hp 12v...- Charles

lol. Yes, a pot on the clutch pedal is what I would use for input. That or a hall. I've toyed with that idea for years now. Without all the fluid coupler crap in the way you could have tons of steels and frictions. With that much surface area, and with it being fluid cooled you could...- Charles
