Thanks Patrick. That is the check valve/pop off valve I was referring to. It is the only thing I could think of also. I have a 95 7.3l powerstroke. It died on me while heading home one day. tried all the usual culprits, noticed reservoir was empty. Tried filling with oil and it emptied on cranking and didn't start. Left sit till I had time, noticed it had been unregistered for 7 years, yes I'm an old fart...- Flatheadvff
