Alrighty, I'll be ordering parts soon. My list is HD Pistons from RCD w/ coated tops, valve reliefs, and zero gap second ring. Performance lifters from Side action diesel. Cam from RCD, while engine seal and gasket kit from sunrise ford. New oil cooler. Anything else I should add to the list for...

If I go 6.0 manis I'm going to try to do the fabbing my self. Shouldn't be bad if the engine is out LOL. Easnt there a thread a while back talking about 6.0 manis? Wasn't there figment issues with the manifold and ac lines or compressor

    08 coolant leaking - dealer can't find

If you can't see a leak them most likely it's going into the engine via egr cooler or head gaskets. What's your oil level and oil look like

They may be torqued to that but it's still less force on the block I'll let you know about the manifolds, I'm considering doing 6.0 manis

We have a nice 3/4 wrench I forgot about in the shop. Goes from like 200 up to 600. The accuracy at the top and bottom ends was about 5% and the middle was around 3%

I know different studs require different torques and still put different forces on the block. I was just wonder if I'll be ok to reuse my arps and torque them to 275 (is everyone still doing a lower number in the crack prone holes) or if I should do a different stud that will be better to use in...

Weren't people cracked stud holes by using a higher torque

My worry was these studs were the ones that called for 275ft lbs. I really don't wanna torque it to that and risk a cracked block

The studs are good. Was worried about reusing them. People say you have to torque them higher the second time and I don't wanna crack my block. And we just curious if I should upgrade the studs now to something better

Is that the stud I should go with?

Ok I guess I'll stick to not painting it. What about studs? Should I go with a stronger stud? I don't feel like having to find a 1/2 torque wrench that will go to 250, should I do a stud with a lower torque value?

Well hopefully I'll be getting the ball rolling on this build soon. I'm not on here as much as I use to be, what new products have came out that I should consider for reliability at a 700-800hp power range. Also what are everyone's thoughts on a red white and blue paint scheme for the engine...

So I got my old heads back with my upgrade valve springs and the valve springs I got from RCD the first round has some surface rust, should I be fine reusing them or has the rust possibly weakened them? The rust wipes right away. But I don't want one to break and drop a valve

Well I got the motor home safe and sound. Can't wait to start to tear it apart. Might take the heads apart on a lunch break this week

Yeah I'm gunna have everything apart and hot tanked and flattened. I plan on getting all new bearings and seals for the engine

Yeah I can't go wrong with it. The block looks good and even if it turns out for some reason it's not I still made out because the heads are perfect, also I'll have two blocks, one will be built and the other might become a coffe table or an anchor lol

Got another up date. Was able to find a guy parting out a engine. I drive up to look at what he had and it is in really good shape for having 120k on it. The motor was pulled because it hydro locked. I looked the entire engine over and only noticed scuff marks at the bottom of the stroke on cyl...

Yeah I wanna know how they do. I'll be beyond pissed if a lifter takes out my motor again. I want it to go out on my own terms, to much nitrous or to much Hp
