For a measly 400 hp, I wouldn't waste my time worrying about the cam or delipping the pistons. Hell, you wouldn't even have to stud it at that power level . . . But it never hurts. It is the same as your 11. The truck should have to be almost stopped in neutral before it will shift in or out of 4x4 low. -

Cracking 100% Nozzles
I have over 100k on a set of Warren 190/100's without a single nozzle issue. I've seen 1800 to 2000° exhaust temps countless times and they've been starved of fuel pressure a majority of their life. Blown head gasket????? HELP
You could try a new cap, just to rule it out but it's more than likely a head gasket. Good luck, from what I see around here, 6.4's over 200k are on borrowed time for needing a short block. -
7.3 oil in fuel runs rough
I wouldn't worry too much about the sizing with a 450hp goal. Hell a 175/30 will make that power or come damn close. I personally would go with a small hybrid with an 80 or 100% nozzle and call it a day. If you go with hybrids, your factory hpop may keep up fairly well if it's healthy. Would... -

Or instead of spending 20 grand he could just go with a set of 238's, an upgraded hpop (a few to choose from), upgraded fuel pump and fuel system, a KC charger, and some custom tuning. Should crack 450 or 500 all day and won't break the bank doing it and will be very reliable. Valve springs... -

I love my 99 F-350 but Ford sucks.
Ya not sure why you'd waste time finding parts for the factory exhaust when you can buy entire 4" exhausts aftermarket with a muffler for like 350 bucks.- Petro

Swap #7 Injector with #5 and see if the miss follows. That will give you a definite answer weather it's the Injector or electrical. -

Well if you did all that and it's still missing on the same cylinder, that Injector probably sh!t the bed. -

The 6 leaker will grow on ya. They really aren't any harder to work on and they are generally alot cleaner when you do have too. The only time I really miss my 7.3, is when taking off with a bigger load. The off-idle torque of a 7.3 is hard to beat when the truck has a manual transmission... -

Unplug that Injector and check the pins on both the male a female sides of the plug. Sometimes they can be pushed in and cause issues. I've seen that happen more than once. If it ran fine before, it's more than likely an electrical issue somewhere. -

Ive also never had a truck live tuned, wether it be a customers or my own, never really seen the need as the tunes I was being sent were damn near perfect. I'll tell ya, a tuner that was hard to beat a few years back was Justin Struckman of Power-Struck. His tunes we're some of the best I ever...- Petro
