Stainless steel injector cups
Same here. Have yet to see a 6.0 cup failure but have replaced several heads that cracked right above the cup in the Injector bore. Never thought to check the cup material in a 6 leaker either.- Petro

I highly encourage you to pull the engine. The pan WILL have metal in it, the last thing you want is to fix the top end and then suck some metal back into the new oil pump, smoke it, and starve the engine of oil and spin a bearing. It would also suck to go through the time and money to do all... -

Check oil filter for metal. Can also pull the harmonic balancer and check the low pressure pump for stamps from needle bearings. They usually wipe the front cover and oil pump housing also. -
DieselSite HPOP Failure
How many miles on the pump? In my experience, that seems pretty typical of those early junk aluminum pumps but they usually make 80 to 100k from what I've seen. Not talking Dieselsite brand specifically, just those aluminum pieces of sh!t in general.- Petro

Kind of glad you didn't take it. I'm thoroughly enjoying driving it. Found a 16 box in mint condition a couple hours away that I paid 800 for with both bumpers and tailgate. It will be a nice truck for someone when I decide to sell here in a few weeks. -
SCT 9625or for my 6.4
I ran one of those back in like 2011 and 12. Can't remember for sure if it had preloaded diet tunes. I was running Innovative custom tunes at the time, and let me tell you, that truck ran like a mother f_ucker. Hated that SCT though, big and clunky but worked well. -

6.4 vs high-mileage 6.7
I have a soft spot for the 6.4 also, personally own two at the current moment. A 450 with 170, currently in the shop getting an engine and a 250 with a 150k, currently sitting with a cracked piston. Unless you feel really lucky or like to pull wrenches, buy a 6.7. They fail also, just not as...- Petro
