    2022 chages

I'm not against it by any means, I'm just curious how far they are going to push the envelope. Nothing I own is stock, I'm always adding power to everything soo I'm not stranger to good running pickups. I truck over the road for a living and run a 550 Cat in my Pete, just blows my mind that...

How many miles on your 6.4?

I bought another in July. 08 Fx4 crew short, ******d , etc, etc, 143k miles for 6 grand. Transmission was out and it has a salvage title but it is almost rust free. Threw a used 500 dollar Transmission in it and have been driving it since. Almost forgot how much I like them while they're running.

    2022 chages

Wondering when they are going to cap the horsepower and torque and say enough is enough. I mean, how much power to people really need from a diesel pickup? If almost 500rwhp isn't enough, you probably should be looking into a real truck anyway.

Stumped, air bubbles in coolant not combustion gasses

The one I worked on was the same. No mixture and according to the block test, there was no combustion gases present in the coolant. I didn't risk it, I scrapped both heads and the block and started from scratch. Lost my ass on it but such is life.

Stumped, air bubbles in coolant not combustion gasses

I ran into this a few years back, i never found the solution but a reply to this thread said he fixed it with injector cups. Heres the thread. http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63685

    Glowshift gauges any good?

Yeah I dont doubt people have plenty of issues with them but you get what you pay for and for 200 bucks for a full set of gauges I was very happy. I haven't bought a set since probably 2016, so unless quality dropped off from where it was at, I wouldn't be afraid to buy another set.

    Glowshift gauges any good?

The first set i ordered was in I think 2009, those weren't the best quality and I had a few issues with that set. But the later sets I installed in some of my pickups and some for customers have been much better. They improved quality substantially. They were also always very accurate and easy...

38r might be toast, looking at KC center section

I wish I was more familiar with the inner workings of the injectors. I was under the impression, that some how oil was basically getting injected into the combustion chamber. Im also not 100% positive on how its possible. Im not working on pickups full time anymore, I bought a Peterbilt and...

    Glowshift gauges any good?

I've probably had 5 different sets in different pickups. I've had good luck with them. The one time I did have trouble, there was a no questions asked warranty. I knew guys with automated and isspro thst have also has issues so I guess it goes both ways.

38r might be toast, looking at KC center section

Look I'm not saying this is for sure your issue, I'm just telling you it is a possibility because I have seen it myself more than once. I know its also happened to others because I've read about it on multiple occasions. Do what you want with the info.

38r might be toast, looking at KC center section

On the last set I want to say the o rings were in very good shape when the injectors were removed. Ive never seen a set bad injector o ring that didn't cause either a hard start problem or that didn't push motor oil into the diesel fuel, where it was seen in the fuel filter.

38r might be toast, looking at KC center section

Not that I've noticed. In 10 years of working on these engines, I've only ran into it a handful of times. Like was mentioned previously, I would think it would be leaving a nice blue trail of smoke if it was the turbo. The thing about the injectors issue that I find the most strange, is they...

38r might be toast, looking at KC center section

The last one I did was exactly the same. Never had trouble starting, ran perfect. Just was consuming huge amounts of oil.

38r might be toast, looking at KC center section

If you find out its not the turbo, I would suspect the injectors themselves. In the last couple years, I've ran into this problem a handful of times on perfect running 7.3s. Everyone one was over 200k on original injectors, passed every test ( cylinder contribution and Buzz Test), but was...

    Cheap Amazon IPR

Had customers install them in 6.0s in the past. The last one had an erratic idle and other very strange symptoms, swapped in an oem ipr and took care of it. I haven't heard anything good about them but maybe you'll get lucky.

    Optimal tow setup

If you have any sort of decent horsepower with a charger that isn't a lazy laggy piece of f-ck, then that 3 to 4 shift isn't a big deal. You'd be amazed how a 400 horsepower 7.3 with a correctly sized turbo, would handle that shift while towing heavy. When Ford used a 1.15 a/r exhaust housing on...

    2020 6.7 Problems

Talking to you is a lost cause. My original comment was said because someone suggested it will not start without glowplugs, that comment was flat out false. You can remove the glow plug control module and it will start the same. You make comments based on the 7.3 level of starting, thats why...
